FOR CHARLOTTE MARIE MUA - AWARD WINNING MAKEUP ARTIST
THE BRIEF
This brief was to design a new logo for a celebrity published hair and makeup artist in Bolton with an amazing creative talent. Charlotte had graduated from university with a high demand of clients, and found herself setting up her new business and in need of a logo and studio signage to emphasise her brand and service.
THE FONT
To build the logo, we started with the name of Charlotte’s business “Charlotte Marie Makeover Studio” a name element being the signature of the logo was best suited to a script style font. Charlotte had asked for gold and rose gold to feature and also wanted the final element to be a title of the nature of her business, a makeover studio.
THE COLOUR
We had a starting point for the colour with the clients request of gold and/or rose gold and the element of makeup and flesh tones, the colour pallet is consisting of the main two primary colours and two secondary pallets for the flesh tones and purple and pink hues to signify makeup.
THE DESIGN
The design of this logo arrived from the concept of smashed or dropped makeup powder. The trend of imagery for makeup was vibrant colours dropped or smashed on a clean white surface so I simulated that using non-uniform spots of colour. The logo works very well, centred with the type element aligned to the centre.
THE USAGE
Here are some examples of the logo design being used. This included business card and banner print design.
